LINCOLN, Neb. -  On Wednesday at Abel Stadium, the men's soccer team from Nebraska Wesleyan University (2-0-1) defeated the Dordt Defenders by a score of 2-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED

• With their first victory at home, the team improves to 2-0-1, which is their best start under head coach Brandon Bonilla since winning their first three games in 2018.
• At the 18:01 mark, Alex Aguilar scored his first goal of the year off an assist from Alvaro Pascual.
• Eli Rhodes' feed to Jaden Hayes, who won the ball over a defender from Dordt, and headed it into the goal for his first of the season, proved to be the game-winning score in the 56th minute.
• Zachary Weis made four stops in goal to help the Prairie Wolves win 2-1.
• The third goal that NWU has allowed this year came from Dordt at the 81:58 mark.

• "We haven't had a guy score more than one goal or a guy that's dished out more than one assist this season. That is credited to the depth we have this year."
• "We went up against a tough Dordt team tonight and came out with a win at home. There is still some things we need to clean up and we will look to do that on Friday against a good Westminster team."
