Volleyball Splits on Saturday to Wrap Up Minnesota Weekend

  • On Saturday afternoon, the Nebraska Wesleyan volleyball team lost to St. Olaf's in a closely contested four set battle [25-18, 22-25, 17-25, 15-25].
  • St. Olaf's (9-4, 2-0 MIAC) won the match in set four after the Prairie Wolves (10-6, 1-A-R-C) fought valiantly to win the opening set. The four-set match had eight tied scores and six different lead changes.
  • With a 14-kill effort, Addie Thomas was the offensive attack's leader for NWU. Thomas collected an additional eight digs, and Nyah Chambers recorded two blocks for the afternoon. Jaclyn Riedl, an outside hitter, came next with 12 kills and 1 block.
  • On Saturday, the Prairie Wolves recorded three blocks. Additionally, Aliah Clarke and Molly Ramirez each had seven kills while hitting .429 and .167, respectively.
  • With 14 digs, Raegan Holle led the backcourt defense and increased her total for her career to 403 digs. Kobie Patten, a defensive specialist, contributed eight of her own digs.
  • Elecea Saathoff, the setter for Nebraska Wesleyan, had seven digs in addition to her 34 assists. 
Saint Mary's
  • Game two was won by Nebraska Wesleyan by a score of 3-0 (25-14, 25-17, 25-16) over Saint Mary's University (Minn.).
  • Freshman Elecea Saathoff was six off the double-double with 29 assists and four digs to go with a kill.
  • Raegan Holle and Lauren Maciejewski led the team with a team-high 9 digs each.
  • Addie Thomas had the most kills (15) among all attackers.
