HOW IT HAPPENED

Carroll

• Carroll volleyball defeated Nebraska Wesleyan in a thrilling five-set match on Friday night.
• The Prairie Wolves fell by set scores of 19-25, 25-19, 21-25, 25-23, and 9-15. 
• With 16 kills, 11 digs, and a .132 hitting percentage, Addie Thomas led the Prairie Wolves. She already has more than 800 kills during her career. Six more kills came from Molly Ramirez. Jaclyn Riedl also contributed five kills.
• The Pioneers had 10 blocks and outhit the Prairie Wolves.183 to.133.

Wisconsin Lutheran

• On the opening night of the Red Hawks Invitational on Friday night, NWU volleyball was defeated by Wisconsin Lutheran in four sets. After suffering a defeat at the hands of the Warriors, the Prairie Wolves' record is currently 5-5.
• The Prairie Wolves had six aces on the day, while Addie Thomas finished with 14 kills. They limited Wisconsin Lutheran to a.166 hitting percentage.
• Both teams competed in close-quarters competition to open the first set of the match. After an Addie Thomas kill, the Prairie Wolves were knotted at 15 points. After a surge, Nebraska Wesleyan won the opening set 26-24.
• In the second set, the Prairie Wolves took an early lead (4-2) but the Warriors rallied and eventually took control.  With back-and-forth play, the Warriors prevailed 25–23 in the set.
• The Warriors jumped out to a 7-3 lead in the third set before Nebraska Wesleyan answered with a run to level it at 22. The Warriors collected the last three points to win 25-22.
• In the final set, NWU and Wisconsin Lutheran remained in close quarters, but the Warriors jumped in front 16-12.  The Prairie Wolves would battle, but fall in four, 25-20.
