Men's Soccer Prepares for Showdown Against Two Midwest Conference Teams

LINCOLN, Neb (September 10, 2023) - On Friday night, Nebraska Wesleyan hosts Grinnell College in their third home game of the 2023 season. Sunday afternoon, the Prairie Wolves take on Cornell College.

A LOOK AT NEBRASKA WESLEYAN 
After securing two victories at Abel Stadium, Nebraska Wesleyan journeyed to Moorhead, Minnesota, for a showdown against Concordia College's Cobbers. The Prairie Wolves are returning to Lincoln after a hard-fought battle, emerging victorious with a score of 2-1.  Nebraska Wesleyan is currently at the top of the American Rivers Conference standings. Over the weekend, standout performers for the Black and Gold included Owen Glogowski, who contributed two crucial goals to secure the win against the Cobbers. Additionally, Zachary Weis displayed his skills by limiting Grinnell to just one goal and making two key saves, propelling Nebraska Wesleyan to their fourth season win. 

A LOOK AT GRINNELL COLLEGE 
Grinnell College welcomes back a total of twenty-two returning players and has added five talented freshmen to their roster for the 2023 season. In the previous season, they closed with a record of 10-8-1 securing a notable 2nd place finish in the Midwest Conference. As the 2023 season unfolds, Grinnell currently holds the 2nd position in the conference standings with a record of 2-1-2. Their upcoming match against Nebraska Wesleyan will mark their sixth game of the season. 

A LOOK AT CORNELL COLLEGE 
The Rams are set for the 2023 season with a squad comprising of twenty returning players and seven talented freshmen. In the previous season, Cornell College secured a 5th place finish in the Midwest Conference standings. As of now, their current record stands at 1-2-2, positioning them in 5th place in the Midwest Conference standings for the 2023 season. The Rams will carry on with their season, with an upcoming match against Simpson College scheduled for Wednesday.
