Baseball Topped by Dubuque

HOW IT HAPPENED 
  • University of Dubuque defeated the Prairie Wolves 3-0 on Friday night by limiting Nebraska Wesleyan to only two hits. For the 13th time this year, the Spartans found the victory column after scoring two runs in the fourth and one more in the fifth.
  • An error allowed Dubuque to score the game's opening run, and a sac bunt gave the visitors an early 2-0 lead. Due to an error, the Spartans extended their lead in the fifth inning.
  • Tyson Romero pitched a complete game for the Prairie Wolves. Despite not allowing an earned run during the game, Romero was given the loss. Romero gave up 11 hits to the Spartans in nine innings while striking out six Dubuque hitters.
