HOW IT HAPPENED

Game 1

• Nebraska Wesleyan battled for ten tough innings to lose 2-3 in the first of three games against Luther.
• The Prairie Wolves came out strong in the first inning with three hits. Kaleb Knox gave the P-Wolves the lead with a two RBI single, 2-0.
• After six scoreless innings, the Norse responded by scoring two of their own in the bottom of the eighth, 2-2.
• Tied at two a-piece after the full nine, the conference rivals went to extra innings. In the bottom of the tenth, the Norse hit a double with two outs and followed with a walk-off single. 
• Despite the loss, Tyson Romero continued to be a strong arm for NWU, pitching 7.2 innings and allowing 8 hits and 2 runs. Romero and company struck out 10 Luther batters, while issuing 3 walks in ten innings pitched.

Game 2

• The Prairie Wolves come up short in seven innings, losing 3-6 in the second game of the series against Luther.
• Nebraska Wesleyan's defense held strong for the first three innings, before a single by the Norse gave them a two run lead.  
• The P-Wolves had a last inning push, scoring 3 runs on two RBIs by Evan Kling, John Haimowitz and a passed ball. However, the Norse were able to keep their lead, securing the Friday sweep.
• Alejandro Espinoza pitched five innings for NWU. He gave up four runs on seven hits and recorded five strikeouts. Bobby Simmons entered the sixth in relief and gave up two runs on four hits with one strikeout.
