HOW IT HAPPENED
Game 1
  • Senior right hander Elise Warneke threw a complete game shutout while striking out nine to lead the Prairie Wolves in game one. The Bulldogs were limited to seven hits by her.
  • The Prairie Wolves were held scoreless through the first four innings before breaking through in the fifth frame. To begin the inning, sophomore Paige Davison was put on base by a Bulldog error. Senior Emma Alfieri advanced Davison to third with her fly out. After that, junior Val Gerlach singled to right field and Davison scored the first run of the game. Jenna Kimberling, a freshman, then hit a single. A single by Warneke plated Kimberling and sophomore Becca Chloupek, making it 3-0. The inning was subsequently completed by junior Sami MacDonald when she scored Warneke on a strong grounder to left.
Game 2

  • With two hits in the fourth inning, the Prairie Wolves grabbed a 1-0 lead. Jenna Kimberling singled to left field bringing in Emma Alfieri.
  • Nebraska Wesleyan got busy in the fifth inning. With back-to-back singles to start the frame, sophomore Paige Davison and junior Hanna Roth placed runners at first and second. With a double, Alfieri brought home Roth, and Davison scored on a wild pitch. Later in the inning Addie Duranski came in clutch with a pinch-hit triple that drove in three runs.
  • The Prairie Wolves would run-rule the Bulldogs 8-0 in five innings.
  • With Hanna Roth's single in the fifth inning, she has now surpassed the 100 career hits milestone.
