Man's Basketball Grinds out 76-68 Win at Wartburg

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In Waverly, Iowa, on Saturday night, the Nebraska Wesleyan men's basketball team defeated Wartburg, 76-68. To help NWU improve to 14-8 on the season, four Prairie Wolf players scored in double figures.
  • With 28 points and 12 rebounds, sophomore standout Peter Lash achieved his eighth double-double of the season. Senior Tyler Unger stepped up to give the Prairie Wolves a much-needed spark contributing 13 points in 17 minutes of action. Carter Glenn and Jack Groeteke also finished in double figures with 11 and 10 respectively.
  • The first half was physical and competitive, but ultimately the Prairie Wolves held the halftime lead 38-37
  • Nebraska Wesleyan was in the lead for most of the game, but they could never pull away from Wartburg. Wartburg came out hot in the second half taking a 44-38 lead. Nebraska Wesleyan responded and retook the lead at the 14:08 mark and never trailed again. 
  • With the win, Nebraska Wesleyan completed the season sweep of Wartburg.

On February 11, Nebraska Wesleyan will travel to Dubuque, Iowa, to take on the Loras Duhawks. The contest will tip off at 4 P.M.
