Men's Basketball Impresses in 74-57 Win Against Simpson

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • In a 74-57 victory over Simpson on Wednesday night, Peter Lash led four Prairie Wolves in double digits with a team-high 29 points, giving Nebraska Wesleyan one of its strongest games of the year.
  • Against a Simpson squad that ranked fourth in the conference for field goal percentage defense, the Prairie Wolves shot 49.2 percent from the field.
  • Nebraska Wesleyan seized the lead with 17:12 remaining in the first half and never trailed the remainder of the game. 16 of Lash's 29 points came in the second half. Landon Tornenton and Carter Glenn each contributed 11 and 10 points respectively, while Andrew Brewer scored 14 more. Going against the second-ranked 3-point defense in the A-R-C, Nebraska Wesleyan hit eight 3-pointers and shot 36.4 percent from outside the arc.
  •  After a Lash basket with 12:16 remaining in the second half, NWU was up by 20 points. Simpson then reeled off ten straight points to cut the deficit to 56-46 with eight minutes remaining.
  • Following that, the Prairie Wolves kept extending their lead. After a Peter Lash jump shot with little under three minutes left, they were up 72-54 and coasted to a 17-point victory.
