HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nebraska Wesleyan men's basketball concludes the 2023 Snyder Classic with a 103-90 victory against St. Joseph's College of Maine.
- In a display of 6'11 athleticism, Jack Groeteke initiated the Black and Gold's scoring by slamming in a dunk at the start of the game. The Prairie Wolves would proceed to go on a 6-0 run to kick off the first half. Groeteke delivered two additional rim-rattling dunks to move his total to six points in the first half.
- The Monks struggled to make defensive stops, resulting in a halftime deficit of 21 points, 58-37.
- At halftime, Nebraska Wesleyan boasted a field goal percentage of 57.9% from the field and 8-15 from beyond the arc. The Snyder Classic Tournament MVP, Carter Glenn, claimed the top spot among scorers with an impressive 16 first-half points.
- The Prairie Wolves maintained their momentum as they entered the second half, with Glenn recording six steals to create scoring opportunities for NWU. Glenn would go on to score a season high of 30 points.
- Despite turnovers down the stretch narrowing the Prairie Wolves' lead to 10 points towards the end of the second half, Nebraska Wesleyan ultimately emerged victorious with a final score of 103-90.
- Nebraska Wesleyan remains undefeated on their home court with Saturday's win and moves to 4-1 on the year.
