Lash's 24, Groeteke's Late Layup Pushes Prairie Wolves Past Knights

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • The Prairie Wolves pulled out an exciting nail biter against Wartburg College winning 80-79.
  • The Prairie Wolves had two players in double-figures, led by Peter Lash, who scored double-digit points for his 11th consecutive game. Lash was hot in the first half scoring the team's first 13 points. Walker Andrew added ten points to the Prairie Wolf total, tallying his ninth game in double-digits this season. Jack Groeteke followed up a career-high game on Tuesday, with a 15-point performance against the Knights. 
  • Nebraska Wesleyan held a 44-41 lead after the first 20 minutes of action. 
  • An offensive rebound and a putback from Elijah Thatch put the Black and Gold up six with 1:14 remaining in the second half, but the Knights would not go away. The Knights would make threes on their final three possessions of the game. 
  • A late Prairie Wolf turnover turned into a Jack Molstead three with 12 seconds remaining in the game to put the Knights up 79-78. 
  •  With just under ten seconds remaining, Peter Lash took the ball the length of the floor before dishing it to Jack Groeteke, who laid in the winning bucket with just over a second remaining. 80-79.
