Men's Basketball Rallies Past Simpson

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Nebraska Wesleyan controlled the majority of the game, defeating Simpson College 80-69.
  • Peter Lash led the Prairie Wolves (9-6, 4-2) with 25 points and seven rebounds. Two more sophomores joined Lash in double digits, with Carter Glenn posting 16 points and Jack Groeteke adding 12.
  • On the Prairie Wolves' opening possession of the game, Glenn's floater was the first point scored after a Landon Torneten steal set him up.
  • Simpson responded and got out to an early six-point lead, but a Prairie Wolf run and a Thomas Hunt three-pointer tied the game at 20 with ten minutes left in the first half.
  • Jack Groeteke entered the game making an immediate impact, scoring all 12 of his points in the first half.
  •  The Prairie Wolves held a seven-point advantage at the break, 44-37.
  • The Storm were able to cut it to one, but the Prairie Wolves responded by going on a 19-5 run topped off by a Carter Glenn steal and layup. The Prairie Wolf held their largest lead at 15 with 2:04 remaining in the game.
  • The Prairie Wolves handled the press put on by the Storm in the final to minutes and came away victorious, 80-69.
