Cornell Slips Past Men's Soccer 2-1

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After a Cornell goal in the 19th minute, neither team was able to find the back of the net until the 80th minute, 0-1.
  • Coach Bonilla went back to Zachary Weis at goalie for the Prairie Wolves. Weis recorded one save in the first half and added two more in second.
  • The Rams tact on another score in the final 10 minutes of the game to increase their lead to, 0-2.
  • Two minutes later, Logan Lawrence anwsered right back off of an assist from Isaac Havemeier, 1-2.
  • Despite the loss, the black and goal have tied 2015's record for the most consecutive games scored in to the begin a season with seven and counting. Saturday they have a chance to surpass that mark with a goal vs. Grinnell College.

  • "We are too good to let these games go, but we have mentally beat ourselves. Chirping at the ref led to a yellow and then a foul that was not needed put us down a player."
  • "I am gutted for them. Right now we got to stop beating ourselves. If we do that, we will be fine moving forward."

The Prairie Wolves (1-5-1,0-0) continue their weekend in Iowa as they travel to Grinnell, Iowa on Saturday, September 17, to take on Grinnell College. Game time is set for 1:30 p.m.
