DUBUQUE, Iowa (May 1, 2022) -  The Nebraska Wesleyan softball team splits its doubleheader at Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. NWU won game one, 5-1, then fell in game two, 6-2.

With the win in game one, the Prairie Wolves clinched a spot in the American Rivers Conference tournament and earned a 20-win season for the first time since 2019. Additionally, it is the the fourth time in head coach Mary Yori's seven seasons that NWU has won at least 20 games.

An inning later, Alfieri hit a sacrifice fly to score Sydney Nickerson. The run pushed the lead to 4-0 but NWU was held scoreless until the top of the seventh inning. In the seventh, Bre Schneidewind lined an RBI single through the middle of the infield to score Taylor Styskal. Loras would score one in the bottom of the inning before the threat was ended.

Kailey Meyer registered eight strikeouts as she tossed her eighth complete game of the season and won her 16th game in the circle. Meyer's 16 wins are tied for second most in a season in program history and she has won at least 15 games in back-to-back season.
