Knights Upend Prairie Wolves


Waverly, Iowa (May 1, 2022) - The Nebraska Wesleyan men's tennis team fell at Wartburg, 9-0, and forfeited its second match of the day to Luther. NWU forfeited the match with LC due to injuries in the lineup. 

The Knights earned three points by sweeping all three doubles matches. At No. 2 Doubles, NWU's duo of Jacob Balfany and Max Rademacher battled and narrowly lost, 8-7 (7-5). WC claimed the other doubles matches by a score of 8-3.

In Singles play, Hayden Retzlaff nearly took the point at No. 6 Singles. Retzlaff won the first set, 6-4 but fell in the second set. Retzlaff then fell in the winner take all third set, 10-6. Wartburg claimed the other matches in straight sets. 

Nebraska Wesleyan returns to the court on Tuesday, May 3 in the American Rivers Conference tournament. NWU and WC will rematch in Waverly, Iowa for their quarterfinal match.
