Prairie Wolves Hold Off Kohawks In Game One, Split Doubleheader

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (April 23, 2022) - The Nebraska Wesleyan softball team split its doubleheader with Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The Prairie Wolves won game one, 4-3, but Coe won game two, 3-0.

Game One Recap
A three-run third inning and a run in the sixth inning pushed NWU past Coe in game one. Bre Schneidewind provided the offensive firepower in the third inning. Schneidewind blasted a three-run home run to break a scoreless game.

In the sixth inning, Nebraska Wesleyan plated another run to make it a 4-0 advantage. Paige Davison lined an RBI single for the run, which scored Sydney Nickerson.

The Kohawks attempted a comeback by scoring a pair of runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and another in the bottom of the seventh inning. But a lineout to Taylor Styskal ended the threat and secured the win for Nebraska Wesleyan.

Kailey Meyer picked up the complete-game victory in the circle for NWU. For Meyer, it is the 13th win of the season and the sixth complete game.
