NWU Places Two At Regional Wrestling Championship


DUBUQUE, Iowa (February 26, 2022) - The Nebraska Wesleyan wrestling team completed day two of the NCAA Division III Lower Midwest Regional Wrestling Championships in Dubuque, Iowa. NWU's Collin Quandt and Zeth Gerksmeyer both placed at the regional championships. Quandt placed sixth and Gerkensmeyer finished eighth to highlight day two's action. 

Quandt started the day with a pin in the consolation round three of the 157 lb bracket. Quandt recorded his third win by pin in the regional meet at the 4:42 mark of the match. After dropping a match by decision in the consolation semifinals, Quandt fell in the fifth-place match.

Gerkensmeyer dropped the opening match of the day in the consolation round three of the 165 lb bracket by a major decision. In the seventh-place match, Gerkensmeyer was defeated by a decision.
