Nationally-Rank Storm Upend Prairie Wolves

INDIANOLA, Iowa (February 16, 2022) – The Nebraska Wesleyan women's basketball team fell on the road to sixth-ranked Simpson College, 96-46, in Indianola, Iowa.

Nebraska Wesleyan ran into a hot shooting Simpson team in its final road game of the 2021-2022 season. The Storm shot 53.7 percent from the field, the highest by an NWU opponent this season. From the three-point arc, SC was 47.4 percent, second-highest from a Nebraska Wesleyan opponent this season as well.

The Prairie Wolves did force 17 turnovers in the game. They are only the sixth team this season to force Simpson into 17 or more turnovers. But the turnovers could not translate into points as NWU struggled to generate offense against one of the conference's best defenses. Nebraska Wesleyan was limited to a shooting performance of just 27.7 percent from the field and 25 percent from the three-point line.

Anna Vandenack netted her 16th double-digit scoring performance of the year. Vandenack scored 15 points to lead the Prairie Wolves. Vandenack also grabbed a game-high nine rebounds, with eight of those coming on the offensive glass. Delaney Roberts was credited with four assists. Roberts now has 11 games this season with at least four assists.
