Late Goal Gives Men’s Soccer Home Win


LINCOLN, Neb. (September 18, 2021) - A goal in the 78th minute gave Nebraska Wesleyan men's soccer a 1-0 win over Cornell College at Abel Stadium in Lincoln. 

Varun Doshi's first goal of the season was just enough to give the Prairie Wolves the win. Doshi netted the goal off of a pass from Alex Kohler. The goal was also Doshi's two second shot on goal for the afternoon. 

The match displayed a lot of offense and big plays in goal as the two teams combined for 22 shots on goal and 21 saves. Kohler and Kyle Hansen were both credited with two shots on goal. Alex Aguilar recorded three shots in the win. Zachary Weis tallied 11 saves to earn his second shutout of the season.
