Men’s Soccer Comeback Falls Short

MOORHEAD, Minn. (September 11, 2021) - Nebraska Wesleyan men's soccer fell to Wisconsin-Eau Claire, 3-2, in a neutral site match at Moorhead, Minnesota. 

After Wisconsin-Eau Claire took a 2-0 lead into halftime, the Prairie Wolves tried to mount a comeback in the second half. Alex Aguilar put NWU on the board with a goal in the 61st minute. The goal was Aguilar's second of the season.

The Blugolds pushed it back to a two goal advantage with a goal in the 69th minute. But Nebraska Wesleyan answered back with a goal in the 79th minute from Alex Kohler. Kohler used a pass from Jacob Caffey to score. However, Wisconsin-Eau Claire was able to fend off NWU the rest of the way.

Zach Weis tallied three saves in net for the Prairie Wolves. Aguilar led Nebraska Wesleyan with two shots on goal.
