Women’s Soccer Tabbed Sixth in Preseason Coaches Poll

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (August 17, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan women's soccer team was selected sixth in the 2021 American Rivers Conference Coaches Preseason Poll. NWU received 26 points in the poll.

The Prairie Wolves return their two offensive players from the 2021 spring season. Megan Cooper and Kaeding Rassfeld combined for four goals, five assists, and 13 points in five matches. The duo also took 19 shots suring the season. Cooper finished fourth in the A-R-C for assists and tied for eighth in points. In goal, Leslie Borges is back for NWU. Borges ranked fifth in the conference for saves per game. The 2021 spring season was limited to five matches due to the COVID-19 global health pandemic.

Nebraska Wesleyan opens the season with a home match against Doane on Wednesday, September 1 at 8 p.m. The conference season begins on Saturday, September 26 at 6 p.m. with a home match against Loras.
