Women’s Soccer Falls To Dubuque


LINCOLN, Neb. (April 3, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan women's soccer team (1-2, 1-2A-R-C) fell to Dubuque (3-1-1, 1-1-1 A-R-C), 5-2, at Abel Stadium on Saturday afternoon. 

The Prairie Wolves struck first in the match with a goal by Megan Cooper. Cooper netted the goal in the 13th minute, it was her first goal of the season. The Spartans answered back with a goal in the 29th minute then added a goal in the 37th minute and 54th minute.

In the 71st minute, NWU made it a one-score match when Kaeding Rassfeld scored off a pass from Lauren Keith. For Rassfeld, it marks the second consecutive game she has scored a goal. Two minutes later, the Spartans added a goal then got another one in the 80th minute. 

The Prairie Wolves were credited with 10 shots in the match, six of those were on target. Leslie Borges tallied six saves for NWU.

Nebraska Wesleyan travels to Storm Lake, Iowa for a 5 p.m. match with Buena Vista on Wednesday, April 3.
