Late Goal Lifts Spartans Over Prairie Wolves


LINCOLN, Neb. (April 3, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan men's soccer team (1-2, 1-2 A-R-C) fell to Dubuque (2-1, 2-1 A-R-C), 2-1 after the Spartans netted the game-winner in 85th minute.

Nebraska Wesleyan knocked in the equalizing goal in the 83rd minute. Logan Lawrence sank a shot into the top left of the goal to knot the match up at one goal apiece. However, Dubuque answered back with a goal just two minutes later then fended off the Prairie Wolves over the final five minutes.

The Spartans took an early 1-0 lead with a goal in the 31st minute. NWU's Zachary Selph was credited with five saves in the game. As a team, Nebraska Wesleyan had three shots on target.
