Loras Upends Women’s Basketball


LINCOLN, Neb. (February 6, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan women's basketball team fell to Loras College (3-3, 1-2) 70-43 at Snyder Arena. 

Johanna Vandenack led the way with the best game of her NWU career. She scored a game-high 17 points, which was a single-game high this season for any Prairie Wolf and also her career-best. Vandenack also knocked down six field goals, an individual high for Nebraska Wesleyan and another career-high for her. She was also 54.5 percent from the field, a single game-high for her this season.

Paige Ravenscroft netted eight points and grabbed six rebounds for NWU. The six rebounds are tied for the second-most in a game for her this season. Ravenscroft also shot, a team-high for the game, 66.7 percent from the field.

Defensively, NWU was credited with 13 steals, which tied for a season-high and forced Loras to committ 20 turnovers. It was the second consecutive game the Prairie Wolves forced at least 20 turnovers and the third time this season. Loras led wire-to-wire in the game, despite allowing Nebraska Wesleyan to shoot 40.5 percent from the field. The percentage was the second-highest allowed by the Duhawks this season. LC's Cierra Bachmann netted 15 points and was a perfect 4-for-4 at the free-throw line.

-NWU has forced 20 turnovers in three of the last four games.
-The Prairie Wolves grabbed 29 rebounds, which snapped a two-game streak of at least 30 rebounds.
