Haynes Continues Unbeaten Season, Wrestling Downed By Luther, Coe

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa. (February 6, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan wrestling team fell in two duals, the first dual to Luther College (2-2), 42-9 and the second dual Coe College (3-1), 45-11.

Sixth-ranked Eron Haynes continued his dominating undefeated season at 133-lbs as he added two wins to his season total. His first win was a pin in 52 seconds and his second win by tech fall, 25-7. Haynes has won six consecutive matches this season with two by pin and two by tech fall.

NWU also picked up a win against Luther from Collin Quandt at 149-lbs. Quandt won his match by a 5-3 decision for his third victory of the season. In the next dual against Coe, Van Schmidt recorded his fourth win of the season with a pin in 4:28. It is Schmidt's third pin of the season.
