Beavers Overshadow Prairie Wolves Home Opener

LINCOLN, Neb. (December 8, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan women's basketball team fell in its home-opener, 46-38, to Buena Vista.

A cold-shooting night plagued NWU in its first game since November 27. The Prairie Wolves shot just 27.7 percent from the field and only connected on three three-pointers. Both percentages were a season-low for this season.

However, Nebraska Wesleyan's defensive was on display. NWU held BVU to shoot 1-of-21 (4.8 percent) from the three-point arc, the lowest by an opponent this season. The Beavers were also just 33.3 percent from the field, the worst percentage by an opponent over the last four games. Additionally, the Prairie Wolves forced 16 turnovers, the fifth time they have forced 10 or more turnovers in a game this year.

Anna Vandenack led Nebraska Wesleyan with a near double-double. Vandenack had 13 points and nine rebounds, seven on the defensive glass. Vandenack and Delaney Roberts both tallied three steals for NWU.
