Spartans Narrowly Edge Prairie Wolves

LINCOLN, Neb. (December 11, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan women's basketball team fell to the University of Dubuque, 66-61, in Snyder Arena.

NWU mounted a furious fourth quarter comeback but came up just short. The Prairie Wolves' offense went to work in the final frame, outscoring the Spartans 21-12. In the final quarter, NWU shot 43.8 percent from the field and also out rebounded UD 9-8. Additionally, Delaney Roberts netted eight of her 15 points in the final quarter.

Nebraska Wesleyan faced an early deficit after a cold-shooting first quarter. The Prairie Wolves were just 3-for-21, 14.3 percent, from the field in the quarter. NWU bounced back in the second quarter with a 50 percent shooting percentage. But UD's 26 first half points were too much to overcome.

Ellie Bream and Anna Vandenack both recorded a team-high 15 points. Vandenack grabbed 10 rebounds in the game, the first double-double for Vandenack this season. Roberts and Sarah Hultquist each added 11 points for the Prairie Wolves.
