LINCOLN, Neb. (December 27, 2021) - Nebraska Wesleyan had eight football student-athletes named to the Omaha World Herald's 2021 NAIA/NCAA Division III All-Midlands Team. NWU had three first-team honorees and five honorable mention selections.
The Prairie Wolves' first-team recipients were Carter Terry (Quarterback), Kevin Tims (Wide Receiver), and Jacob Hohl (Punter). Colton Davis (Offensive Line), Kaden Dawe (Linebacker), Austin Neufeld (Kicker), David O'Connell (Wide Receiver), and Karrell Simpson (Defensive Back) all were recognized as honorable mention selections.Â
Terry was a second-team All-American Rivers performer this past season. Terry ranked second in the ARC for passing yards (2,403), average/game (240.3), and touchdowns (24). Tims was an All-American Rivers honorable mention. Tims ranked fifth in the ARC with 60 receptions; ranked sixth in the ARC with 800 receiving yards and seven touchdowns. Hohl was an All-American Rivers Conference first-team selection. Hohl led the ARC and ranked 20th in NCAA Division III with 39.3 yards/game, was first in the ARC with 2,240 total punt yards and 18 punts downed inside the 20
Colton Davis earned an All-Midlands team accolade for the third time as a Prairie Wolf and Kaden Dawe earned the All-Midlands team accolade for the second time. It was the first career honor for Terry, Tims, Hohl, Neufeld, O'Connell, and Simpson.
