Men’s Basketball Falls To Dubuque


LINCOLN, Neb. (December 11, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan men's basketball team fell to the University of Dubuque, 76-63, in Snyder Arena. 

A back-and-forth first half was highlighted by NWU's defense. Nebraska Wesleyan allowed Dubuque to hit just two three-points as they shot 15.4 percent from the three-point arc. The Prairie Wolves transitioned the momentum into offense with six three-pointers of their own in the opening half. 

However, the Spartans heated up in the second half. UD shot 45.5 percent from the three-point line and 51.5 percent from the field in the final frame. NWU went just 37.9 percent from the field and couldn't keep pace from behind the arc, hitting 4-of-11 three-pointers.

As a team, NWU had a season-best six blocked shots. Peter Lash led the Prairie Wolves with 17 points and missed a double-double by a rebound. Landon Torneten netted 14 points, dished out four assists and tallied three blocked shots. Tyler Converse was credited with five assists, which tied a personal season-high and tied the most in a game this season by a Prairie Wolf.
