Prairie Wolves Edged By Crusaders


COLORADO SPRINGS - (November 27, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan women's basketball team fell to the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, 66-55, on the second day of the Colorado College Classic in Colorado Springs. 

NWU's offense struggled in the contest as it shot just 33.3 percent from the field. However, Nebraska Wesleyan's defense smothered UMHB and held them to a 35.7 shooting percentage from the field and a 26.7 three-point shooting percentage for the game.

The Prairie Wolves attempted a fourth quarter comeback by outscoring the Crusaders 23-14 in the final frame and making it a nine point game with just 1:25 left in the game. NWU held UMHB to shoot 29.4 percent from the field in the fourth quarter, including just one three-pointer. But the rally ran out of time before it could be completed.

Brianna Denton and Delaney Roberts each had a team-high 10 points. Sami Tucker was credited with a team-best six rebounds. Additionally. Roberts and Tucker both had five assists apiece for NWU.
