Women’s Basketball Falls In Opener At Colorado College Classic

COLORADO SPRINGS - (November 26, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan women's basketball team fell to Hardin-Simmons University, 69-49, on the first day of the Colorado College Classic in Colorado Springs.

The undefeated Cowgirls jumped out to an early advantage with 21 points in the first quarter despite the Prairie Wolves shooting 60 percent from the three-point line. HSU limited NWU to just 15 points over the next 20 minutes.

In the fourth quarter, Nebraska Wesleyan outscored Hardin-Simmons 20-9, led by a defensive effort that limited them to shoot just 16.7 percent from the three-point line and 20 percent from the field for the 10 minute period. However, the fourth quarter rally would not be enough for the Prairie Wolves to overcome the deficit.

Ellie Barrows led NWU with a game-high 12 points. Rhett Partridge grabbed eight rebounds, which was also a game-high. Delaney Roberts was credited with seven assists, another game-best.
