Seven Prairie Wolves Earn Football All-Conference Accolades


CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (November 19, 2021) - Nebraska Wesleyan had seven football student-athletes named to the 2021 American Rivers Conference All-Conference Team that was announced today. The Prairie Wolves had one first-team selection with three second-team selections and three honorable mention selections.

Jacob Hohl was tabbed with first-team honors as a punter. Hohl led the A-R-C with an average of 40.0 yards per punt, which also finished top 20 nationally. Additionally, Hohl had 18 punts land inside the 20-yard line, which was a conference-best. Hohl ranked second in the league for punt yards with 2,240 and third in punts over 50 yards.

Carter Terry was a second-team recipient at the quarterback position. Terry averaged 240.2 yards per game and tossed for 2,403 yards with 24 touchdowns, all those numbers ranked second in the conference. Terry ranked third in the league for total offense with 2,289 yards for an average of 228.9 yards per game. 

Colton Davis picked up All-Conference accolades for the third consecutive season. Davis was tabbed on the second-team offensive line. This season, Davis anchored an offensive that ranked second in passing offense at 257.7 yards per game and second for touchdowns with 26.

Austin Neufeld garnered a second-team place kicking honor. Neufeld went a perfect 6-for-6 on field goals with a long for 43 yards. Neufeld was also 32-for-34 on extra points this season. For total points, Neufeld rank top 15 in the A-R-C with 50 points scored.

David O'Connell and Kevin Tims were both recognized as honorable mention selections. O'Connell finished tied for second in touchdown receptions with 12 as Tims was sixth with seven. Additionally, Tims was sixth with 800 receiving yards and O'Connell was seventh with 749 receiving yards.

Defensively, Karrell Simpson was tabbed with an honorable mention accolade. Simpson was tied for third in the A-R-C with four interceptions. Simpson returned one interception for a touchdown this season as well. For the season, Simpson finished with 47 tackles.
