Cold Shooting Second Half Slows Down Men’s Basketball

WHEATON, Ill. (November 19, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan men's basketball team fell to Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the first round of the Wheaton College Invitational in Wheaton, Illinois. 

The Prairie Wolves held a one point lead heading into the halftime break behind seven three pointers. NWU was 46.7 percent from behind the arc in the opening frame and had a 12 point lead with 6:17 left in the half. Ben Phillip came off the bench to knock down two of the team's seven three-pointers in the half. The Prairie Wolves also picked up 11 points in the half from Carter Glenn.

However after the halftime break, Nebraska Wesleyan went cold. NWU connected on just two-of-11 three-pointers in the second half and struggled from the field. The Prairie Wolves had a 27.6 percent field goal shooting percent for the second frame.

Glenn paced Nebraska Wesleyan with a career-best 16 points. Josh Rogers poured in 11 points for NWU. Landon Torneten grabbed a team best eight rebounds.
