Men’s Basketball Nets 100, Wins Season-Opener


MORRIS, Minn. (November 13, 2021) - Nebraska Wesleyan men's basketball opened its 2021-2022 season with a 104-92 win at Minnesota-Morris. The 104 points are the most by NWU since its scored 115 points on January 18, 2020.

The Prairie Wolves offense was on display the full 40 minutes as they never trailed in the game. In the opening half, the team shot 50 percent from the field and hit seven three-pointers. Defensively in the half, Minnesota-Morris was limited to just 34 points and shot 37.5 percent from the three-point arc. 

NWU continued its hot shooting with 52 more points in the final 20 minutes and shot 47.2 percent from the field for the half. Nebraska Wesleyan made it to the free-throw line 15 times in the second-half compared to just six times in the opening half. The Prairie Wolves were 86.7 percent from the line in the second-half and 85.7 percent for the game. 

Peter Lash led Nebraska Wesleyan with a double-double. Lash netted 23 points and grabbed 13 rebounds with just under a 50 percent shooting percentage. Carter Glenn chipped in 19 points and four assists in his first college basketball game. Connor Riekenberg added 18 points with Isaiah Thomas scoring 12 points off the bench for NWU.
