Second-Half Scoring Blitz Propels NWU

LINCOLN, Neb. (October 6, 2021) - Three second-half goals propelled the Nebraska Wesleyan men's soccer team past Buena Vista, 3-1, at Abel Stadium. The three goals scored by NWU is the most in a game this season.

After a scoreless first-half, the second-half was filled with plenty of offense as the Prairie Wolves netted three goals in the second 45-minute frame. The scoring barrage started just over a minute into the half when Alex Kohler scored his first of two goals in the game.

BVU answered with an equalizer in the 56th minute but NWU countered with a goal from Brandon Harper in the 68th minute to take the lead back, 2-1. Harper sank the goal off of a pass from Kohler. Kohler's busy night wasn't over there. Kohler added an insurance goal in the 74th minute to put the game out of reach for the Beavers.

Nebraska Wesleyan doubled the shots taken by Buena Vista by a 14-7 margin. Defensively, NWU's backline limited BVU to just two shots on goal as Zachary Weis finished with one save.
