Men’s Soccer Draws With Coe

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa (October 16, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan men's soccer team played Coe College to a, 0-0, draw in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The scoreless draw is the second time this season NWU has held its opponent scoreless.

The Prairie Wolves nearly ended the match in the 93rd minute on a shot from Alex Aguilar. After receiving a pass deep in Coe's end, Aguilar sent a shot over the defense and goalkeeper that sailed just inches too high, hitting the crossbar. Caleb Vos attempted a shot off the rebound but was unable to net it.

Aguilar's shot on goal in the extra period was one of three shots on goal from Aguilar in the match. Vos and Logan Lawrence were also credited with shots on goal for NWU. As a team, NWU took 10 shots in the draw.

Defensively, Zachary Weis tallied eight saves with the clean sheet in goal. The eight saves are the third-most for Weis in a match this season. As a backline, Nebraska Wesleyan allowed 12 shots in the game.
