Central Blanks NWU

LINCOLN, Neb. (October 12, 2021) - The Nebraska Wesleyan women's soccer team fell to Central College, 1-0, at Abel Stadium.

NWU faced an aggressive attack from the Dutch throughout the game. Despite being down four players in the lineup due to injuries, the Prairie Wolves only allowed one goal. Leslie Borges tallied 11 saves as the Dutch took 21 shots in the match. The 11 saves are the second-most in a match this season by Borges.

Offensively, Nebraska Wesleyan tried to pressure Central in the second half. NWU attempted two shots in the half but was unable to find the equalizer. Hannah Ghannam and Morgan Finley both registered shots on goal for the Prairie Wolves.

Central scored the match's only goal in the 10th minute off of a deflected pass in the box.
