NWU Wins Two Doubles Matches in Loss to Morningside


LINCOLN, Neb. – Nebraska Wesleyan dropped their second men's tennis dual of the season on Saturday (Feb. 15) falling 7-2 to Morningside College in Knight Fieldhouse.
 
The Prairie Wolves won two of the three doubles matches to get out to the early lead.  All three doubles matches were very competitive with NWU falling 8-6 at No 1 doubles then winning the other two.
 
Bobby Curry and Vinh Le won 8-7 (7-5) at No. 2 doubles then Cole Lohoefener and Hayden Retzlaff were 8-6 winners at No. 3 doubles.
 
Morningside won all six of the singles matches, needing three sets to earn two of the wins.  At No. 1 singles Max Rademacher fell 6-1, 3-6, 10-8 to Jesus Angel Sanz from Morningside.  The other three set match was at No. 6 singles where Retzlaff lost 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 to Jay'Vonn McKinney.
 
The Prairie Wolves now have two weeks off before returning to competition on Feb. 29 for two matches in Fremont, Neb.
