LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Wesleyan women's tennis team was finally able to make their home debut at their new complex on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 3) when the Prairie Wolves played host to Coe College in American Rivers Conference action.
Coe came away with an 8-1 victory moving their record to 4-2 on the season. NWU dropped to 0-3 on the year.
Natalie Reynolds was the lone NWU winner on the day getting a win at No. 3 singles. Reynolds defeated Sophia Craig 7-5, 6-1 to earn the straight set win.
The Kohawks won all three doubles matches on the day. In singles play the most competitive match was at #1 singles with
Brooke Sailer of NWU facing Emma Lassen of Coe. Sailer won the opening set 6-1, then Lassen took set two 6-3. In the third set tiebreaker, Lassen came away with a 10-8 victory to earn the hard fought win.
Coe took the other four singles matches in straight sets.
NWU's match that was scheduled for Sunday against Loras College has been postponed. The next match for the Prairie Wolves is now set for Wednesday (Oct. 7) when they host Simpson College at 3 pm at the LSF Sports Complex.
