LINCOLN, Neb. – Central College shut out Nebraska Wesleyan 9-0 in women's tennis action on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 11) at the LSF Sports Complex.
The Dutch move to 3-3 overall on the season, while NWU remains winless at 0-5 to start the 2020 season. NWU was supposed to play two home matches over the weekend, but Saturday's match versus University of Dubuque was postponed.
Central won all three doubles matches, including 8-0 wins at both No. 2 and No.3 doubles.
Brooke Sailer and
Kailey Jay-Kissler lost 8-3 in the No. 1 doubles match.
Sailer was competitive in her No. 1 singles match, but eventually fell to Karleigh Schilling 6-4, 7-5.
Natalie Reynolds recently moved up to No. 2 for the Prairie Wolves and challenged Bronwyn Metcalf 6-4, 6-3 in her match.
The Dutch would win all six singles matches in straight sets to get their third American Rivers Conference victory.
NWU will look for their first win of the year on Wednesday (Oct. 14) when they host Buena Vista University at 3 pm in Lincoln.
