Women Fall at Home to Coe 86-60

LINCOLN, Neb. – The Nebraska Wesleyan women's basketball team dropped their fifth straight American Rivers Conference game on Wednesday night (Jan. 15) when Coe College came into Snyder Arena and defeated the Prairie Wolves 86-60.
 
NWU (5-9, 2-5) trailed by only nine points at halftime but were outscored by 17 in the second half.  Coe shot 57.1 percent in the fourth quarter alone to seal the victory.
 
The Prairie Wolves cut the lead down to 12 points to start the 4th quarter but the Kohawks then went on a 9-0 run to get the lead back to 21 points and they never looked back.
 
To start the game, NWU was outplaying Coe leading 16-11 with four minutes left in the first quarter.  NWU then went cold scoring only one point the final four minutes as Coe outscored the Prairie Wolves 13-1.
 
After starting the game 4-12 from 3-point range in the first half, the Prairie Wolves went ice cold from long range in the second half.  The Prairie Wolves were only 1-17 from deep in the second half.
 
Coe also out rebounded the Prairie Wolves 51-31 and held a 40-26 scoring advantage in the paint.  The Kohawks were led by Jackie Feldt with 14 points.  Destiny Smith came off the bench to score 11 points.
 
NWU was led by Caitlin Navratil with 24 points, scoring 18 in the second half.  Mikenzie Delgado scored 13 points with three made 3-pointers and Jazmine Glenn scored 11.
