LINCOLN, Neb. – Five players scored in double figures as Luther College remained undefeated in American Rivers women's basketball action with a 96-63 victory over Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 11) at Snyder Arena.
NWU (5-8, 2-4) has now dropped four straight league games after starting the season 2-0 in the A-R-C. The Norse improve to 7-5 and 5-0 in A-R-C action.
The Prairie Wolves shot only 39 percent from the field, compared to 48.0 percent for Luther. The Norse were able to take advantage of their size inside holding a +16 advantage in rebounding and scoring 48 points in the paint.
Luther built up a 50-33 halftime lead, but NWU outscored the Norse by one point in the third quarter. In the fourth quarter, NWU made only 4-14 shots as they were outscored 27-10 in the final period.
Four of the Luther starters were able to score in double figures led by All-Conference performer Laura Hamilton with 20 points and eight rebounds. Madilyn Heinke posted a double-double with 15 points and 15 rebounds. Sarah Holtz scored 13 points, Madi Spence 12 and Coranda Vickerman 10 points.

Caitlin Navratil was the only player in double figures with 23 points playing 38 minutes. She was 9-17 from the field and led the team with six rebounds.
NWU will try to snap their losing streak on Wednesday when they host Coe College.
