Women Shutout UW-Platteville 1-0 in Soccer

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. – One goal was all that Nebraska Wesleyan needed in a 1-0 victory over University of Wisconsin-Platteville on Saturday night in Platteville, Wis.

The shutout victory in the defensive battle moves the Prairie Wolves to 6-1 on the season, with UW-Platteville dropping to 1-6 overall.  NWU looks to keep the winning streak going on the road Sunday when they stop in Grinnell, Iowa to take on Grinnell College.

Olivia Munroe scored the only goal of the match in the 13th minute and that was all the Prairie Wolves would need.  UW-Platteville had four shot attempts in each half but they were unable to find the back of the net.

Liz Wolf posted the shutout in goal recording five saves as the Prairie Wolves goalkeeper.  NWU also ended the match with eight total shot attempts, with seven shots on goal.

Saturday's win was the fifth shutout victory for the Prairie Wolves during the 2019 season.
