FULTON, Mo. – A pair of first half goals lifted Nebraska Wesleyan to a 2-1 road victory at Westminster College on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 15) in women's soccer action.
After dropping their first match of the season on Friday night, the Prairie Wolves bounced back on Sunday with the 2-1 victory to move to 5-1 on the season.
Kaitlyn Sullivan got the scoring started for the Prairie Wolves in the 11
th minute off an assist by
Annie Platt. Platt then added a goal of her own in the 27
th minute to give the Prairie Wolves the 2-1 advantage at the halftime break.
Westminster (0-5-1) was able to cut the lead in half early in the second half with a goal from Isabel Peng in the 48
th minute. That would be the only goal of the match for the Blue Jays as the Prairie Wolves held on for the win.
NWU finished the match with 12 total shots, compared to eight for the Blue Jays.
Liz Wolf got the win in goal for the Prairie Wolves recording three saves.
