Shutout of Blue Jays Gives Prairie Wolves Winning Record

FULTON, Mo. – A first half goal was all the Nebraska Wesleyan men's soccer team needed to earn a 1-0 shutout victory over Westminster College on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 15) at Fulton, Mo.
 
Tyler Sanne scored a goal in the 16th minute for the only goal of the match to put the Prairie Wolves ahead and they would hold on to earn their third win of the season.  NWU has now won two straight matches to improve their overall record to 3-2-1 overall.
 
NWU kept Westminster at bay on defense allowing only eight total shots with four shots on goal.  Making his first career start, Zachary Selph posted a shutout as the NWU goalkeeper.  He recorded four saves in his shutout win.
 
The Prairie Wolves ended the match with 18 total shot attempts, including eight shots on goal.  Nolan Dillon kept the pressure on the Blue Jays with six shots and four shots on goal but he could not find the open net.
 
Nebraska Wesleyan now prepares to finally have their home opener on Friday (Sept. 20) when they host Crown College at Abel Stadium.
