WAVERLY, Iowa – 15
th-ranked Wartburg jumped out to a 21-point lead after one quarter and rolled past Nebraska Wesleyan 95-56 in American Rivers Conference women's basketball action on Saturday afternoon (Feb. 9) in Waverly, Iowa.
The loss snaps the Prairie Wolves three game winning streak and drops them to 12-11 overall and 7-7 in league play. Wartburg won their 20
th overall game moving to 20-3 and 13-1 in A-R-C action.
Wartburg was on fire from 3-point range to start the game as they were 6-9 from 3-point land and shot 61.1 percent overall. The Prairie Wolves were only 4-14 from the floor as they fell behind 30-9 after one quarter.
The Knights continued to pour it on in the second quarter outscoring NWU 24-10 to hold a 54-19 lead at halftime. Wartburg made 9-13 from 3-point range compared to 1-8 for the Prairie Wolves.
NWU ended the game at 38.9 percent shooting scoring their second lowest point total of the year. Wartburg finished at 50.0 percent going 12-26 from 3-point land. The Knights also held a 50-27 advantage in rebounding.
Caitlin Navratil was the only NWU player to score in double figures finishing with 16 points and six rebounds.
Wartburg was led by Adrienne Boettger with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
