WAVERLY, Iowa – Nebraska Wesleyan suffered their first American Rivers Conference loss of the season on Saturday afternoon when Wartburg College swept the Prairie Wolves 3-0 in Waverly, Iowa.
Wartburg won in scores of 25-16, 25-18, 25-22 to improve to 15-7, 3-0 in American Rivers play. NWU drops to 10-5 and 2-1 in conference.
Nebraska Wesleyan struggled on the attack Saturday being held to a hitting percentage under .100. NWU hit .094 as a team with only 27 kills, compared to 50 kills by Wartburg.
Hannah Bellinghausen led the way with 8 kills.
Cora Svoboda had 6 kills and a team-best .385 hitting percentage with three blocks.
Cassidy Plosster and
Anna Gottsch both had eight assists and
Kelsie Stovall led the team with 15 digs.
Wartburg was led by Kylie Bildstein with 13 kills hitting .579. Jaymee Willemssen added 11 kills.
