DUBUQUE, IOWA – Nebraska Wesleyan opened American Rivers Conference women's soccer play with a 1-0 road win at University of Dubuque on Saturday night (Oct. 5) in Dubuque, Iowa.
NWU now moves to 10-1 overall after posting their 8
th shutout of the year. Dubuque drops to 8-3 overall.
Annie Platt scored the only goal of the match in the 80
th minute to put the Prairie Wolves on top. It was off an assist by
Suzie McDonald.
The two evenly matched teams were unable to get anything going offensively but the Prairie Wolves were able to capitalize on their scoring opportunity.
Liz Wolf posted the shutout in goal for NWU with one save in the match.
The 10 victories by the Prairie Wolves are the most since 2013 and just the second time since 2006 that a NWU women's soccer team had reached double digits in wins.
