Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Despite Outshooting Coe, Women Fall 1-0 in 2 OT

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Nebraska Wesleyan was by far the more dominant team in the match, but that doesn't always result in a victory as was the case on Tuesday night (Oct. 15) when Coe College defeated the Prairie Wolves 1-0 in American Rivers Conference women's soccer action.

Sydney Schroeder scored the game-winning goal in the 108th minute to give Coe their first conference victory of the season. The Kohawks move to 6-5-2 overall.

NWU has now dropped two straight matches to fall to 11-3-0 overall and 2-2 in the A-R-C.

The Prairie Wolves outshot Coe 20-5 in the match, but just couldn't find the back of the net.  In the first half, NWU had 12 shot attempts compared to only three by the Kohawks.

Even when the match went into overtime, the Prairie Wolves kept up the pressure on offense.  NWu attempted six shots in the first overtime while Coe did not have one attempt.

Eight of the Prairie Wolves shots were on goal as Kacey Baker finished the match with eight saves as the Coe goalkeeper.

Nebraska Wesleyan will look to bounce back and get back to their winning ways this weekend at Luther College.
