ROCK ISLAND, Ill. – Ben Schulz scored the game-winning goal in the 79^th minute to lift the Nebraska Wesleyan men's soccer team to a 1-0 shutout victory over Augustana (Ill.) on Sunday afternoon (Sept. 16) in Rock Island, Illinois. 
 
NWU bounced back from a loss on Saturday at North Central to earn the much needed shutout victory to improve to 4-2 overall. Augustana falls to 2-3 on the season.
 
The Prairie Wolves had five shot attempts in the first half, compared to only two for the Vikings in the first 45 minutes but neither team scored.  Augustana had seven total shots during the match and none of them were goal.
 
Samuel Lesoing posted the shutout as the Prairie Wolves starting goalkeeper.
 
The match remained tied at 0-0 until Schulz scored the game-winner at the 79:17 mark.  It was the second game-winning goal of the season for Schulz.
 
NWU returns home for a match this Wednesday when the Prairie Wolves host Nebraska Christian College at Abel Stadium.
